Painted tiles have been a primal Dutch product for centuries. In this tradition, Mo Tiles offers self-painted rustic tiles with colorful images of iconic buildings, fish, shellfish, birds and vegetables. A diverse collection of original, authentic works of art.
The images are painted in oil on glass and then applied to the tiles and baked. This makes them water- and heat-resistant and the colors remain beautiful.
Different sizes are available for each design. An oblong composition is also available as a tableau, where the design runs across two tiles. You can place your order directly here.
Commisioned Tile
Mo Tiles regularly gets commisions from organizations and individuals for a tiles as a durable and decorative gift that lasts.
Often clients choose to have a tile made with a self-selected image e.g. of a building or a theme that symbolizes the connection with the recipient.
Something personal and creative and an original gesture. You can contact us if you are considering this.
Painter's easel, frame or cork sticker
Mo Tiles can be used in multiple ways. A mini easel can be ordered with the tile so the tiles can be put down. Or a wooden frame to hang the tile. The frames are made by Cre8 in Amsterdam: a creative workshop where young people can get back to work after a difficult period. By buying a tile with a frame, they are supported. The tile can also be used as a coaster. A cork sticker is available for this purpose so that the tile does not cause scratches. By the way, you can also hang the tile on the wall yourself with double-sided tape.
Sustainablilty
Most designs are wiped away after use, so the glass can be used for a new design.
When you are in the neighbourhood you can pick up your order at ours in Amsterdam. Moreover, we are regularly present on local markets and fairs where you can also pick up your order.

About us
Mo Tiles is established by Monique de Meyere in 2023 to sell her self-designed tiles. The designs are painted in oil paint on a glass plate. The designs are scanned an subsequently printed on traditional tiles after which the tiles are baked again. This way it is water and heat resistant. By designing on glass the images are bright and colorful. Our mission is to make our clients happy with a little art work in their homes! We can also provide you with plain tiles if you want to use one or more Mo Tiles on a tiled wall.
